Three Delicious Summer Punch Recipes

With summer now very much on our doorstep, it would be rude not to celebrate with a garden party (fingers crossed). Here at Drinkly, we know how stressful party planning can be and how many different things you have to think about. So, we’ve decided to make it a little bit easier for you. We’ve compiled a list of our three favourite summer punch recipes to please all your party guests this summer. Simply make a big bowl of punch, provide a ladle and everybody’s happy – including yourself! It’s time we started enjoying our own parties instead of getting stressed about the little things like coasters, the weather and whether or not the drinks will run out. We can’t necessarily help with the coaster or weather issues (other than sending out good vibes and praying to the sun Gods) but we’ve got you covered on the drink front. By making one (or more if you’ve got a lot of guests coming) of our punch recipes, you’ve got enough to serve all your mates, and if things should run a little dry, all ingredients are available from Drinkly so can be with you within an hour. Party on!

Here are three summer punch recipes perfect for pleasing all your friends and ensuring you have the most stress-free party ever:

1. Pink Lemonade Punch

Ingredients (Serves 8):

1 Bottle (75cl) Barefoot Moscato (or another slightly sweet wine, rose or white)

250ml Smirnoff Vodka

1l Sprite

250ml Sunpride Cranberry Juice

Plenty of Ice

The ease of this punch is second to none. All you have to do here is pour all the ingredients in a big punch bowl, add whatever fresh or frozen fruit you have lying about (limes, lemons, strawberries, raspberries, etc.) and it’s ready for everyone to enjoy. Plus, you can get creative here and pretty much add whatever takes your fancy. Whether it be swapping the wine out for a different white or even mixing it up with prosecco or rosé, you can really make this punch your own and tailor it to your guests’ taste buds. The punch should be a lovely, pale, millennial pink colour and, as in the picture, you can have all sorts of fun decorating the rims of the glasses with lemon or even by wetting them with lemon juice and then coating with sugar. This sweet, fizzy punch is all you need to give you the perfect garden party sugar rush. Also, it’s pink, so you’ve got your drinks and ideal table centrepiece all in one. Don’t say we’re not good to you.

2. Sweet Tea Whisky Punch

Ingredients (Serves 8-10):

3l Water

13 Teabags

140g Sugar

1 Bottle (70cl) Jack Daniels

1l Schweppes Ginger Ale

120ml Lemon Juice

Plenty of Ice

This Sweet Tea Whisky Punch is perfect if you’re after a slightly more grown-up iced tea. Even better, you can do all the prep in advance so you don’t need to faff about with anything on the day! To make this delicious punch, simply bring one litre of the water to the boil, add the teabags and let them steep for around ten minutes. Then, remove the teabags, stir in the sugar, add the remaining two litres of water and chill for 4-6 hours. On the day of the party, all you need to do is pour the tea, Jack Daniels, ginger beer and lemon juice into your pitcher, fill it up with ice and lemon slices and you’re good to go! This one is the perfect refreshing punch for you and all your whisky-loving friends. It’s still deliciously sweet, thanks to the sugary iced tea, but it also has that lovely, warming whisky quality that makes it ideal for a summer garden party. You can, of course, add more JD if you’d prefer more emphasis on the whisky. You could even try using Honey Jack Daniels if you’re all about the sweetness. No matter what adaptations or customisations you make, this punch truly is quali-tea.

3. Rosé Sangria Punch

Ingredients (Serves 8):

1 Bottle (75cl) Mirabello Pinot Grigio Rosé (or similar)

60ml Courvoisier Brandy

500ml Schweppes Lemonade

Plenty of Ice

By just mixing all these ingredients together and adding in whatever fresh or frozen fruit you have in the house, you can create the most delicious pink sangria punch. Be sure to use a dry rosé, like the one we have suggested here, to create a crisp and refreshing sangria, with the lemonade providing most of the sweetness. Alternatively, you can swap the lemonade out for 500ml Strathmore Sparkling Water and stir in about 2tbsp of sugar. This rosésangria punch offers the perfect twist to the classic red wine sangria; one that is certain to impress all your friends, whilst simultaneously quenching their thirst. This punch will undoubtedly bring back fond holiday memories of drinking sangria in the sunshine – and who says you shouldn’t have that from the comfort of your own home?  We’ll bring all the ingredients to you, now all you need to do is rely on the sun to keep its hat on.

There you have it! Three simple, yummy summer punch recipes to treat your friends to this season. Whether the sun stays shining or not, these punch pitchers are certain to light up the room.
